GUYS I have so much homework and I’m such a bad procrastinator. Only a week and a half and I’ll be done with the majority of it. I CAN DO IT!!!!!

I went on another Catching Fire tour with the Hunger Games Unofficial Fan Tours in Atlanta! I got to do the same things as I do last November but this time I also got to see The Swan House (President Snow’s mansion) in the middle of Mockingjay filming. Our group was invited to the set on a weekend (so no actors or actual filming, just sets being built). We walked through the cast’s dressing room (they had all been there 72 hours before me) and got to see the set on the patio. We would have seen more except the set designers had arrived and were working.
They had filmed a scene outside his mansion just a few days before (when it snows and a certain character dies) and there were still pieces of “snow” (fluff) stuck to the concrete so I got to take a little piece (I’ll be looking for that piece when I see the movie ;)).
Along with that, we saw the places were Catching Fire was filmed: the District 12 scenes and the Cornucopia scenes. I am standing on the pedestal from the movie that Jennifer Lawrence used!

teenagebookland:

Sometimes I go to the library and I look at the books and I think wow, I’ve read all of these books. And then I just look at them a little more and remember what I love about each book and it feels like there’s a million little movies of each book playing in my head and it’s just a really beautiful feeling.

taherehmafi:

ransom and i got married several months ago in an intimate ceremony, but recently had a larger reception for more family and friends, and it was a blast! as we’re both writers, it seemed fitting to have the event at one of our favorite bookstores: the last bookstore in downtown LA. we’ve had a lot of requests for photos, so i thought i’d drop a few here. hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

:::for the especially curious:::

my bouquet: was made from the pages of ransom’s novel (miss peregrine’s home for peculiar children).

our photographers: brandon + katrina of brandon wong photography.

venue: the last bookstore in downtown los angeles.

catering: the extremely fabulous heirloomla.

flowers: from floral art!

rentals: furniture from found rentals, dishes from dishwish!

the band: one of our favorite local indie bands, the gallery.

hugs and books!

xx
